To join our chapter, you must first be a member of Mensa. Membership is open to people who score in the top 2% on any standardized IQ test. Mensa has members as young as three and as old as 105. There are two basic ways to join Mensa.

  • Submit past scores from any of over 200 qualifying intelligence tests.
  • Take the Mensa Admission Test, given at one of our regional group testing sessions (or schedule a private exam). There is a culture-fair test available for those who do not speak English as their primary language.

However, the Mensa Admissions Test which our chapter administers is valid only for individuals 14 years of age and older. Testing for children under 14 is available through private testing services and educational institutions.

The following is a schedule of testing events in our region. For tests in other regions or for personal testing, visit the American Mensa website.

More testing events will be scheduled soon

How to Join Northern New Jersey Mensa

When you join American Mensa, you will automatically be assigned to the chapter for your geographic region. However, even if you live outside of our area, you can tell American Mensa that you want to be assigned to our chapter. If you want to change your local group to NNJM, you can let Mensa know you specifically want to be in the “Northern New Jersey Mensa” chapter.
