How can I join NNJM?

First, you have to be a member of American Mensa.   If you’re in our turf, NNJM should be the default, but it never hurts to check your profile and be sure.

If you want to change your local group to NNJM, you can let Mensa know you specifically want to be in the “Northern New Jersey Mensa” chapter.

See the contact info at the bottom of this page to check your membership profile.

How can I join American Mensa?

Membership in Mensa is open to anyone who has achieved a score within the top 2 percent of the general population on an approved intelligence test. More than six million Americans are eligible for membership.

So how do you join American Mensa?  There are several ways, but the main ones are:

  • Submit past scores from over 200 qualifying intelligence tests. This is called “Prior Evidence Review”.
  • Take the Mensa Admission Test, given at one of our regional group testing sessions (or schedule a private exam). There is a culture-fair test available for those who do not speak English as their primary language.

Mensa has members as young as three and as old as 105. However, the Mensa Admissions Test which we administer is only valid for children 14 years and older. Testing for children under 14 is available through private testing services and educational institutions.
